In our backyard, which is a sprawling field bisected by a shelter belt, are gardens. The soil is rich, so tending the beans, tomatoes, and leaks requires little effort. Fending off the surrounding vegetation is another matter. It pushes against the wire fencing, and more often than not, finds a way to sprout in and amongst the rows. The garden looks unkempt, but it feels all the more inviting in its disarray.

I recently had the honour of shooting the wedding of two good friends of mine, Keanan and Marie. We were shooting in and around a big prairie thunderstorm (complete with hail!), which provided some wonderful atmosphere.

I spent a wonderful week visiting family in Saskatoon and got to meet my lovely niece Vera, who obviously occupied all our attention.
